Laminated glass, as a type of glass, does not produce sharp fragments after being shattered by impact due to the bonding effect of the PVB film sandwiched between two ordinary glass pieces. This effectively prevents the occurrence of fragment stabbing and penetration falling incidents.

In the field of building doors and windows, laminated glass has three major advantages

1. The sound insulation performance of laminated glass in general buildings is achieved by using PVB interlayer as the intermediate layer material. The PVB film has the damping function of filtering sound waves (reducing the vibration amplitude of sound to alleviate volume transmission). Therefore, if living in an area with severe road noise, choosing a laminated glass with a PVB film thickness of 1.14 mm is the right choice.

2. The natural UV protection ability of PVB interlayer also has the function of filtering UV rays. Data shows that PVB film can absorb more than 99% of UV rays, thus protecting indoor furniture, plastic products, textiles, carpets, artworks from fading and aging caused by UV radiation.

3. Good energy-saving performance is due to the fact that laminated glass made of PVB film can effectively reduce sunlight transmission. The darker the color and the lower the transmittance of laminated glass, the stronger its ability to block heat. Therefore, if there is sufficient light at home, it is advisable to choose laminated glass with medium transparency.
